Hello everyone! March 13th and 20th were the team’s first two meetings and a lot of items were discussed. The team was able to spend some time introducing themselves, telling each other a bit about their background, and what they hoped to accomplish on the trip. There’s a wide variety of skills and gifts that will assuredly be very useful to our objective of spreading the Gospel while serving the Lenca people.
During the meetings, there were a multitude of questions about luggage, packing, provisions, lodging, sanitation, and vaccinations. All of them were very pertinent; hopefully the answers cleared up any details that were unclear. It’s the first mission for many of the team members so a lot of questions revolved around what to expect. To help, we were able to show a few pictures from last year – such as the hostel we will be staying at while in the field:
The team also covered fundraising – some expenses, such as transportation, increase in cost the closer we get to departure. We’d prefer to be excellent stewards of the funds God provides for us. Please consider giving to our mission trip! Any amount is immensely helpful.
Speaking of supplies, there was discussion about the details of what we’ll be doing in country and the materials to bring to accomplish those objectives. More will be said about that as plans solidify.
The March 20th meeting ended by posing a question to all the team members:
If you know you couldn’t fail, what one thing would you do?
An intriguing question. The answers should be interesting!
